Complete athlete trunk strength homework

Your trunk is essentially your belly and your back. Activating those muscles is crucial for protecting your spine and knees as well as properly activating your hips and transferring power to improve performance. Here are some useful exercises that we give to our athletes for homework to work on trunk strength.

The draw-in is one of the most important fundamental exercises an athlete can master.

The glute bridge teaches you to activate your trunk and your hips simultaneously.

The hip side raise is another exercise that will teach you to activate your hips and your trunk together.

Once you can properly perform the draw-in you can challenge yourself with the anchor.

The mcgill crunch is a great exercise to build strength in the abs with a crunching motion while stabilizing the lower spine.
